A Note From The Executive Director - 3/18/2008
Friends of the Family’s golf tournament – our only event of the year – helps us keep Maryland’s Family Support Center network working smoothly and getting good results for families and taxpayers. With 23 operating Centers today, it spans 16 counties and Baltimore City. Each Center offers comprehensive, prevention-oriented, holistic programs targeted to the very youngest Marylanders who are growing up in families facing barriers to success. We spend about 95 percent of the money we raise on Center operations. Your contribution not only supports these programs but also attracts assistance from other individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies. “Leverage” is the word!
David G. Phillips, a former member of our Board of Directors and chairman of the Golf Committee, passed away in 2006. David’s commitment to Friends of the Family and the Centers continues to inspire us. We are determined to see the day that David worked for, when all Maryland infants and toddlers grow up with the benefits of unconditional love, “good enough” parenting, and a stable home environment. Your participation in the tournament will bring us closer to realizing this dream, and we are deeply grateful for your support.
